I reserve the right not to be a victim of an industry that refuses to be transparent to the public about the veriables that are involved with air travel 🛫✈️🛬💥🔥👎
brave cameraman on wing of aircraft
The VC10 had 4 rear mounted engines
Easy to miss 53 tons I guess 🙄 .
A little movie.
At approximately 20,000 hours of B727 time she always got me there and back. Respect the warning systems and you will always be fine.
How you can tell this flight took place on another planet: "...there were 10 flight attendants..."
Good video with nice sounds.
"It seems like the tires deflated" Ya think so, Einsteain??
Anything associated with california is doomed to failure!
Crazy how this happened on August 25 the same day that Samantha smith died in a plane crash 16 years before.
this video could have been 2 minutes long bleh
Alarms indicate don’t take off terrible judgment 😮
No mention of fatalities or injuries? That's elementary school reporting, if that!!
Idiot pilot.
Jumbo jet was the nickname of the 747 not DC 10
First things is when the takeoff- warning horn came on any experienced pilot would know the plane wasn't properly configured for flight and should have aborted the T/O immediately. The story from them that fooling with the #1 engine anti ice valve caused them to move the flap lever is pure BS as one is on the center console and the other is on the overhead panel and could never be confused.
Halifax has seen so many disasters in the last couple hundred years, mostly maritime, but not all.
What do you mean a "successful" belly landing? Was in unintentional or an emergency?
game😂
Its incomprehensible that the plane was not de iced.
Are we sure that it wasn't?
I was on a TWA 707 at San Francisco Airport June 1975. The plane had just started the take-off roll when the pilot brought the plane to stop. Another jet flew over us, the sound was rather loud. After a short delay the pilot after making a comment to the passengers safely took-off.
Your mom's a stick shaker.
Flew to O'Hara on a United, back in 2013, alot of turbulence.
Jumbo Jet? DC 10
Se fosse num carro, chamarbse ia: "barbeiragem"
This is some pretty high quality video for the date.
1968 , flight crews were still drinking before performing their job.
With thick black smoke from burning cargo and especially deicing chemicals would have most likely spelled doom for the passengers before they could get on the ground and exit the plane anyway. Even at a closer airport.
I had to stop watching because of the obviously stupid depictions of Chicago. 1961?
It’s not a -62…definitely a DC 8-61. Look at the cheatlines, ex-Eastern Airlines a/c. They only flew the stretch DC 8-61s.
JAPAN AIRLINES-516✈️
I’m not a certified pilot anything but believe me if I hear a blaring alarm I’m not going to go ahead with the take-off. Doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure that out.
I hate to think that windshield wipers on a airplane sound like those of a '69 Buick
'65 Dodge Coronet 440 :) same thing.
Was the aircraft repaired and returned to service?
Loud Alarm in the cockpit during takeoff! Eh it’s probably nothing …stupid computers f-it let’s just go
Feel so sorry for them and their families. They bravely kept the plane in the air much longer than most pilots would be able to do so. The professionalism right to the end was magnificent. They almost made it back flying a broken and massive airplane. RIP to the crew.
To many border jumpers weighing it down? 🤔
Hope they learned this BIG lesson. KNOWING DA RESPECTABLE WEIGHT + da model of da plane is being used.....😢
Very sad. Till deaths accured....
Oh f..k it now it's in FIRE....?
MORE FAKE shit.
This was one of several United accidents during the 60’s and 70’s which showed a recurring pattern of poor CRM. They jolted United out of their complacency and the result was United’s CRM training program, which served as the model for the industry. It could even be argued that United’s CRM issues went all the way back to the United 227 crash at SLC in 1965. While the 727 was dropping like a brick on landing approach, descending at 2100 feet per minute, the F/O was uncomfortable with the excessive rate of descent. But he kept his mouth shut until Captain Kehmeier let the 727 fly itself into the ground 300’ short of the runway. The two words “GO AROUND” would have saved 40+ lives.
I'm deflated now
I only piloted a small ga aircraft for twelve logged hours but I remembered to start the engine on every flight.
At least they heeded the rnginr alarm...
Captain and First Officer still employed?
I hope is not another suicidal pilot😢
Can i use your video (few clips) in my monetised youtube video? I will give credit to your channel.
That poor bird. She tried to warn him three times and the captain wouldn't listen.
